Sichuan Technology and Business University is a comprehensive private undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. The university was originally established in 2001 as the "School of Electronic Information Engineering of Sichuan Normal University," which became an independent college, "Sichuan Normal University Chengdu College," in 2004. It was transformed into a regular undergraduate university in 2015, successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment by the Ministry of Education in 2023, and was approved as a new master's degree granting unit in Sichuan Province in the same year.
STBU has two campuses in Chengdu and Meishan, covering an area of over 130 hectares. Its scale of operation has steadily expanded, its talent cultivation system has been improved, and its student enrollment has maintained a stable growth trend. With the cultivation of high-quality applied talents as its core, STBU focuses on the economic and social development and industrial needs of Sichuan Province. It adheres to the talent cultivation concept of "people-oriented, moral education first, application-oriented, and all-round development", and focuses on "new engineering" and "new business". It explores an applied talent cultivation model characterized by "industry-education integration and practical training integration". The degree of alignment between talent cultivation and social needs reaches 96.28%.
STBU currently has 8 secondary schools and 46 undergraduate majors, covering 6 major disciplines: engineering, management, education, economics, literature, and art. In the past three years, it has established 4 provincial-level first-class major construction sites, 6 provincial-level applied demonstration majors, and 1 provincial-level "Double First-Class" construction Gongga Plan cultivation discipline. 5 majors have been selected for the provincial-level private college characteristic major quality improvement plan . The university has shared its experience at more than 20 national and provincial professional development conferences, and more than 50 sister universities have visited the university for inspection and learning.
STBU attaches great importance to faculty development, and has assembled a well-structured, high-quality, and highly skilled teaching staff. Among them are over 30 national (provincial, municipal) level outstanding teachers, model workers, March 8th Red Banner Pacesetters, moral exemplars, and experts enjoying government subsidies; two provincial-level "Curriculum Ideological and Political Education" demonstration teaching teams and eight provincial-level outstanding teaching and research teams have been approved; the teaching staff emphasizes the cultivation of practical teaching abilities.
STBU integrates various teacher development resources to build a "three major projects" training system covering the entire career cycle of teachers, and supports teachers' professional growth in multiple dimensions: supporting teachers to take up temporary positions in industry enterprises, improve their academic qualifications while working, and deeply participate in industry-education integration and educational reform, while simultaneously ensuring teachers' needs for external training and professional development, team building and diversified development, so as to comprehensively improve teachers' practical ability and educational research level.
STBU emphasizes open education, integrating social resources through school-local government and school-enterprise cooperation. It boasts 264 various experimental and training rooms and 120 off-campus practice bases for school-enterprise cooperation. It has also established six modern industry colleges, including the Meishan Electronic Information Modern Industry College, constructing a comprehensive practical teaching support system. Furthermore, in 2016, the school was listed as a pilot university for overall transformation and development reform in Sichuan Province, implementing the "One-Two-Three Action Plan" for transformation and development. This plan promotes four major projects: "Industry-Education Integration, Talent Cultivation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Mechanism Guarantee," achieving "four shifts" in its educational philosophy. Through co-constructing majors, courses, and training bases with enterprises, the school conducts collaborative education between industry, academia, and research, allowing enterprises to participate in the entire talent cultivation process.
STBU's transformation and reform experience has been submitted to the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government twice and promoted throughout the province. It has been exchanged with the national and provincial governments eight times. In 2018, it was rated as an outstanding unit for transformation and development reform in Sichuan Province. Its transformation achievements won the second prize of the Teaching Achievement Award of Sichuan Provincial People's Government in 2021. Its typical cases have been reported by national media more than 20 times, which fully demonstrates the school's effectiveness and exemplary value in the reform of the application-oriented talent training model.
STBU deeply practices the school's characteristic of "innovation and entrepreneurship, collaborative education" and has built an innovation and entrepreneurship model of "three connections and four integrations". Since 2016, innovation and entrepreneurship education has been fully incorporated into the entire process of talent cultivation, forming an integrated education system of "curriculum teaching + practice platform + competition incubation + school-enterprise collaboration". Relying on the college student innovation and entrepreneurship club (which has won the honor of Sichuan Provincial Makerspace and one of the top 100 entrepreneurial clubs in the country), a practice incubation platform has been built. In conjunction with industry and enterprise resources, innovation and entrepreneurship courses have been opened and special training has been held to promote the collaborative cultivation of students' innovative thinking and entrepreneurial ability by "school-enterprise-society" and help students transform their ideas into practical results.
Relying on a comprehensive system of practical and innovative entrepreneurship education, students possess the ability to solve practical problems in production, management, and service, and their innovation and entrepreneurship achievements are outstanding. In recent years, students have won 3,381 provincial-level and above awards in academic competitions (558 national-level awards), and 161 provincial-level and above awards in influential innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as the China International College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the "Challenge Cup" College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Works Competition, and the "Challenge Cup" China College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition. STBU is the only private undergraduate university in Sichuan Province to have won a silver medal in the national finals of the China International College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. It has been approved for 64 national-level and 215 provincial-level College Student Innovation Training Programs. The College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club has received honors such as Sichuan Provincial-level Makerspace and one of the top 100 entrepreneurial clubs in China.
Business innovators have successively won the honorary titles of : "National Outstanding Communist Youth League Member", "Top 100 National Entrepreneurial Heroes" and "China's Self-Improving College Student Star". Their entrepreneurial stories were selected for the All-China Youth Federation's "Belt and Road" Youth Storytelling Conference. They have been invited to participate in the China International Import Expo, the 2025 KAB Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem Conference, the Tsinghua University Rural Revitalization Action Forum, and to sit in on relevant meetings of the Sichuan Provincial People's Congress.
In the past three years, the enrollment rate of undergraduate freshmen has exceeded 95%, the average initial employment rate of graduates has exceeded 90%, and the overall satisfaction rate of employers with graduates has reached over 95%.

The "Four Hundred Science and Education Assistance Project" was implemented in Yanyuan County, Liangshan Prefecture, to promote new crop varieties and technologies, help local farmers improve crop yield and quality, and obtain direct economic benefits of more than 90 million yuan. It has become the only private university in the province that has been commended by the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government for three consecutive years for its targeted poverty alleviation efforts, and has contributed to rural revitalization with education and science and technology.

STBU has built a campus cultural brand centered on the "Sansu Culture," (Three Northern Song Dynasty literary figures: Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe) constructing a "Sansu Culture Museum" within the library to allow teachers and students to experience the charm of traditional culture up close. It has implemented the cultural education project of "Five-Sphere Integrated Plan" , integrating the concepts of "valuing culture and education" and "cultivating morality" from the "Sansu Culture" into all aspects of education, teaching, campus activities, and social practice.
