School Overview

The School of Humanities, Education, and Applied Studies was established in July 2025 through the strategic integration of the former School of Foreign Languages and School of Education, leveraging their complementary strengths. The school is committed to the educational philosophy of the university, which is to provide education that is "local relevant, applied focused, and open access." In line with this philosophy, the school has a service mission that is "rooted in Tianfu, serving Sichuan, radiating across Southwest China, and facing the nation." The primary objective is to establish a unique, practical talent development system to provide human resources for regional social development.

It operates two major research platforms: the Sichuan Provincial Education Department Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences—the "Sichuan Technology and Business University Asia-Pacific Education Information Research Center"—and the Meishan Municipal Key Research Base for Philosophy and Social Sciences—the "Three Su Brothers Culture Research Center." It is home to one provincial-level Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center (Early Childhood Education), two provincial-level teaching and research teams, and five provincial-level first-class courses. The college has obtained provincial-level skill certification qualifications for Infant and Toddler Development Guides. It has been selected as a provincial-level benchmark department for "course-based ideological and political education," featuring two provincial-level model courses for this initiative and one provincial-level exemplary case study.

The college currently offers seven undergraduate programs: The following programs are available: Chinese Language and Literature, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Advertising, English, Japanese, and Internet and New Media. In addition, there is one associate degree program in Infant and Toddler Care Services and Management. The student body exceeds 5,900. The college also has the university-wide responsibility for general education. It delivers core courses, including College Student Mental Health Education, College English, Introduction to Three Su Culture, and College Chinese. This has established an educational framework where "specialized education pursues in-depth development" and "general education provides comprehensive empowerment," working in synergy to advance together.

School Profile

The faculty structure of the college is highly qualified. 35.5% of the institution's 138 full-time instructors hold senior professional titles, and 97.1% possess either a master's or doctoral degree. In addition, the institution has seven PhD holders, 61 dual-qualified instructors, and four industry experts on its staff. This forms a multidisciplinary team centred on "academic leadership + industry-education integration." In recent years, faculty members have won over 50 provincial-level or higher teaching awards, including the Grand Prize in the National Exchange of Outstanding Teaching Cases for Ideological and Political Education in Foreign Language Courses, First Prize in the Foreign Language Teaching Competition organized by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, and Third Prize in the National "Teaching Star" Competition hosted by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The teaching facilities are of the highest standard, featuring a modern laboratory cluster comprising 43 basic labs and specialized training platforms. These include a sensory integration training room, an infant and toddler emergency training room, a simulated daycare center comprehensive training room, an Orff music training room, an infant and toddler care training room, a Montessori Laboratory, an Elementary Science Laboratory, a STEAM Smart Technology Laboratory, a New Media Creative Production Space, a Premium Recording Studio, a Psychology Laboratory, a Cross-Border E-commerce Training Lab, a Japanese Language and Culture Laboratory, and a Multilingual Interactive Scenario Lab. In addition, the department has established internship bases in collaboration with over 20 renowned domestic and international enterprises spanning education, foreign trade, online new media, and cultural tourism sectors. This network supports a four-year, multi-tiered, multidimensional practical teaching system.

Talent cultivation has achieved notable success through the implementation of a "three-pronged foundation + three-stage development" mechanism, which involves integrating coursework with job roles and aligning academic credentials with professional certifications. In recent years, students have secured over 300 national and provincial competition awards, including the Excellence Award at the Ministry of Education's "101 Plan" Academic Forum for Cultivating Top Students in Philosophy, the Grand Prize at the China University Students Cross-Border E-commerce Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the Silver Award at the National "Internet Plus" Competition. We are delighted to announce that more than 200 students have been accepted into prestigious universities both domestically and internationally, including such renowned institutions as Sichuan University and the University of Sydney. These students will be pursuing further studies at these highly respected educational institutions. The employment rate has consistently exceeded 90% for several consecutive years, and employer satisfaction has consistently reached over 95%. Graduates are employed across educational institutions, government agencies, and enterprises. The school has achieved notable success in the field of social services. Utilizing its linguistic strengths, faculty and students have provided services for international events such as the Western China International Fair, the Chengdu 2021 Fisu World University Games, and the Bamboo Expo. Since 2023, it has regularly conducted language teaching and psychological support programs at children's welfare institutions and communities, earning government commendations. It has also established signature events like the Three Su Brothers Cultural Festival, the Foreign Language Culture Festival, and intangible cultural heritage inheritance initiatives, contributing to the international dissemination of Chinese culture. The college has been recognized for its achievements, having been awarded the title of 'Advanced Grassroots Party Organization of Sichuan Higher Education'.

Advertising Studies

The Advertising Studies program is firmly rooted in the digital creative industries of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. It specializes in brand digital strategy and AIGC visual innovation. The institution is dedicated to cultivating versatile applied talents with an international perspective, a sense of national pride, and a spirit of meticulous craftsmanship.

Core courses encompass an introduction to advertising, communication studies, computer graphics design, advertising copywriting, advertising market research and statistics, advertising creativity and planning, marketing, and advertising effectiveness. This builds a knowledge system that balances theory and practical application.

The program employs a "real-world brand project-integrated" teaching model, leveraging the collaborative AIGC laboratory between the university and industry. By integrating cutting-edge digital technologies, it strengthens students' end-to-end practical capabilities, from brand diagnosis and strategic planning to visual output. Graduates typically become proficient within five years in roles such as brand digital strategy planning, AIGC visual creativity, and digital marketing planning at advertising agencies, internet platforms, and enterprises. They are well-positioned to serve as creative engines and industry pillars, driving the digital transformation of regional SMEs.

Chinese Language and Literature

The Chinese Language and Literature program is designed to cultivate well-rounded professionals who possess a comprehensive understanding of humanistic literacy and digital competence. Graduates possess the ability to transcend disciplinary boundaries and flexibly apply specialized knowledge across cultural, media, educational, and managerial fields. Graduates are equipped for careers in cultural creative planning, new media writing, digital content production, language teaching, and administrative office work. The program has a proven track record of producing graduates who specialize in identifying and transforming significant local cultural resources, as demonstrated by the cultural heritage of the Three Su Brothers.

Core courses include Chinese Classical Literature, Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature, Foreign Literature, Modern Chinese, Classical Chinese, Pedagogy, Educational Psychology, Academic Writing, Creative Writing, and Introduction to Linguistics.

Rooted in the regional culture of the Three Su Brothers, this program integrates the demands of the digital age to transcend traditional boundaries dominated by academic research and literary creation, forging a technology-driven liberal arts discipline. Beyond conventional curricula, it explores a "Chinese Language and Literature Plus" model for cultivating interdisciplinary talents, achieving cross-disciplinary integration.

Japanese Language

The Japanese Language program is based in Meishan and serves the digital cultural tourism industry of the Chengdu-Chongqing region. The core of its teaching product and unique selling point is the translation and dissemination of Three Su Brothers culture to Japan. The program is committed to holistic education, fostering the development of high-calibre, versatile professionals who possess proficiency in Japanese and a comprehensive understanding of Three Su Culture, along with expertise in digital content creation and dissemination. By establishing a project-based practical teaching system as its core driver, the college vigorously builds students' core competitiveness in "Japanese + Three Su Culture + Digital Communication."

The core curriculum encompasses Advanced Japanese, Japanese Society and Culture, Special Topics in Three Su Culture Studies, Cross-Cultural Communication, and Digital Content Creation, ensuring students deeply integrate linguistic knowledge, cultural literacy, and digital skills. Graduates will become professionals capable of excelling in Japanese cultural dissemination, cross-border cultural tourism planning, and international business services. It is anticipated that they will evolve into pragmatic, application-oriented talents that meet regional development needs and possess exceptional cultural product output capabilities.

Network and New Media

The Network and New Media program is rooted in the digital creative industries of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. It focuses on intelligent communication within algorithmic ecosystems. It is dedicated to cultivating versatile, application-oriented talents with patriotic spirit, international vision, and digital competency.

Core courses encompass Fundamentals and Applications of E-commerce, Web Design and Production, Convergent Journalism, New Media Product Design and Project Management, New Media Data Analysis and Applications, and Online Public Opinion Monitoring and Analysis, forming a cross-disciplinary curriculum system.

Leveraging cutting-edge AIGC technologies, the program implements a practical teaching model that combines project-based learning with studio-based learning. It strengthens students' end-to-end practical capabilities, from content creation and intelligent distribution to digital asset operation and value conversion, in line with industry transformation demands. Within approximately five years of graduation, students can excel in roles such as new media content creation, intelligent platform operation, digital marketing, and traffic monetization across news media, internet platforms, and enterprises. They are well-positioned to assume leadership roles in regional digital marketing sectors, including team management responsibilities.

Elementary Education

The Elementary Education program has been developed to meet the developmental needs of basic education in the Sichuan-Chongqing region. The program is designed to produce well-rounded elementary teachers who excel in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labour education. Graduates possess high professional ethics, solid subject knowledge, proficient teaching skills, digital literacy, and an innovative spirit. They are equipped to teach subjects such as Chinese and mathematics, manage classrooms, and engage in holistic education, while developing capabilities for continuous reflection, collaborative teaching research, and lifelong professional growth.

Core courses include Principles of Education, Elementary Child Development Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction Theory, Elementary Chinese/Mathematics Textbook Analysis and Design, Modern Educational Technology, Classroom Organization and Management, and Educational Research Methods. This forms a trinity curriculum system integrating "subject foundation + teaching competency + educational practice."

The program is based at the Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centre. It follows a path of "industry-education integration, science-education convergence, and interdisciplinary synergy". It strengthens a three-cycle mechanism of "observation-research-internship," emphasizing the cultivation of digital teaching skills and cross-disciplinary integration capabilities. This creates a distinctive integrated training model of "teaching-research-education," with the aim of becoming the cradle for outstanding elementary teachers in the Sichuan-Chongqing region.

Preschool Education

The Preschool Education program has been developed to meet the strategic requirements of Sichuan-Chongqing's "integrated childcare and preschool education" initiative. The institution's graduates are known for their well-roundedness, excelling in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labour education. They are characterized by a strong sense of national commitment and social responsibility, contributing to the implementation of national population strategies and regional educational development. Graduates will demonstrate sustained attention to and understanding of early childhood growth and development patterns, creatively integrating digital resources with theoretical approaches to the healthy development and education of children aged 0-6. They will provide specialized health and educational support tailored to children of varying ages and backgrounds, possess a commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth, and be equipped to excel in childcare, management and home-school-community collaboration within multicultural early childhood education settings.

Core courses include Preschool Child Development Psychology, Preschool Child Health and Care, Preschool Education Evaluation, Early Childhood Behavior Observation and Analysis, Preschool Education Research Methods, and Early Childhood Play and Guidance.

The program draws on four provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, a provincial experimental teaching demonstration centre, and a provincial vocational skills assessment centre, establishing a distinctive training system integrating infant and toddler health development with education. This is achieved through a tripartite collaborative education platform involving universities, government, and kindergartens, and a three-cycle practical mechanism of observation, research, and internship.

English Language

The English program is based in Meishan and serves industries such as foreign trade and education in the Sichuan-Chongqing region. The institution is dedicated to cultivating high-calibre, application-oriented and versatile talents with well-rounded development in the following areas: morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labour skills. Students should possess comprehensive competencies in "AI literacy, linguistic proficiency, cross-disciplinary expertise, and practical application," embodying both patriotic spirit and global vision. Participants will be equipped to meet national and regional development needs and excel in a variety of English-related positions. The program draws on achievements such as provincial-level first-class courses, implementing a "1+N+X" training model. Focusing on the fundamentals of language, it integrates specialized modules and dual practical training clusters, supported by a tiered competition system. This approach integrates teaching, learning and application seamlessly, blending instruction with a competitive element.

The core curriculum is designed to strengthen linguistic and cultural foundations, enhance practical skills and digital literacy, elevate international competence, and integrate cross-disciplinary innovation through the lens of "language + AI."
